We’ve had the pleasure of interviewing great people during this research project. In this case, we’ll look into three talented and extraordinary people. Founders and Innovators striving to leave a legacy in a world that’s changing rapidly.

Matthew Karsten – Purple Squirrel Media

Matthew Karsten, founder of Purple Squirrel Media, is a tech evangelist and entrepreneur. Matthew aims to bridge the gap for content creators and advancements in tech to make the most amazing network for the People. The most amazing community of purple squirrels to make the world a better place.

Dave Quinn – Day One Experts

A problem-solver who always finds a way to connect and inspire those around him. Dave is a certified economic developer, professional speaker, and leadership coach.

Kamil Sattar – E-Commerce Mentoring LTD

Mohammed Kamil Sattar (born May 10, 1999) known as “The Ecom King” is a British E-commerce entrepreneur.

Kamil Sattar is the founder & partner in more than three companies in various industries, ranging from luxury goods, digital marketing, dropshipping and e-commerce. Kamil Sattar companies have combined annual sales of more than $3,000,000 a year. He’s been teaching business owners and their workforce for two years, sharing his knowledge from being involved in e-commerce for 4 years and helping them grow to 6-7 figures in revenue.

Did companies really change during the pandemic?

One of the main issues companies have faced during the pandemic time was switching to remote work. Not only the place of work would change but also the work environment. The office is not quiet anymore -there are other people and kids around-, casual water cooler chats are no longer happening, creative meetings with physical sticky notes disappear, and more.

And this is far to be the only big change companies have had to face. We’ve asked our guests what were the biggest challenges they had to face, and how they did so.

D1experts is known to be a very agile and people-first company. As a team, they had a close relationship based on strong values and fluent communication.

When the pandemic hit, it put their processes and human connections on trial. The context was complicated, the spare room (or sometimes the living room…) turned into the new office, meetings and daily communication carried on video conference calls, and more.

However, keeping a positive attitude and supporting each other, helped D1experts to improve their daily processes and not only keep their productivity but power it up.

Eager to help

A young person from Austin, Texas, is sharing nice moments and teaching his students how to perform better. Some of his artists record content and want to share it with the community and -why not?- make some money out of it. They can’t, they don’t know how to do it, or the existing alternatives are too expensive for them. That’s when their leader quickly jumps in to help them.

This is a real story and the humble leader is Matthew Karsten, founder of Purple Squirrel Media.

COVID has affected Matthew personally. Some of his relatives passed away because of COVID-19. His entire world changed.

The now changing world allowed him to create a new business. He saw an opportunity to help and quickly decided to take the difficult journey that would help millions of people. Embracing personal and professional relationships is Matthew’s flagship, and while the pandemic was a big rock in his way, he didn’t hesitate to overcome the difficulties and help others.

Streamline processes

E-Commerce Mentoring LTD exists to help people to start and scale their business. Kamil Sattar founded the company in 2017, aiming to share his broad knowledge of the industry with other businesses owners who need advice to run their business.

Their entire team works remotely. They have people in Europe, the US, Canada, and more.

What was their challenge then? They had to analyze their customers’ minds and their world-view to understand them better and found out their behavior changed.

This discovery made E-Commerce Mentoring streamline their processes in order to provide help in a way their customers needed.

Rather done than perfect

In this 2nd release of our research project, we’ve deeply analyzed our interviewees and their companies. The majority of them were able to either create a new business or tune-up their actual business to succeed in this pandemic.

There are a lot of things that helped them, such as a good mindset, a positive attitude, perseverance, discipline, and more. But the common denominator in all of them was a rapid and effective reaction.

In detail, they:

  • acted quickly instead of spending months of planning;
  • narrowed down their goals and put the focus on them;
  • eliminated waste and improved their processes;
  • focused on producing instead of just doing.
